Amplify Application:

All Amplify students must have an accepted Amplify application on file. You can find the application here, and you can find FAQs about the application here.

Ongoing Experiences:

One of the requirements of being in Amplify is participating in an ongoing experience.

A requirement of being in Amplify is to participate in an Ongoing Experience, at least one per semester. The goal of these ongoing experiences are to support you, and to help you find community/connection somewhere on campus that you can stay with after your first year is over. We have worked with a few campus partners and have come up with a few “featured” experiences that we think are great, but overall these experiences can be flexible & should fit with what you want to do. We have read through your application and placed you into an experience based on your interests & our availability.

You can view your current Ongoing Experience assignment here (log back into the Amplify Application!)

More info about Ongoing experiences can be found here. Amplfiy Pride or Amplify Psychology count as an ongoing experience.

  • You should make a math plan here – this will help guide you & help let you know if you need to take the MPT.

  • Composition Directed Self-Placement (DSP) Survey. Due: before orientation. 20 questions.
    • Not everyone needs this. Some folks will be directly placed into CO150, some into CO130, based on test scores/credits.

Housing, Roommates, Room selection & Move in

Housing, Roommate, Room Selection

  • Housing Application + Roommate related
    • The housing portal (go to student login) is how you fill out the housing app. It is required if you are going to live on campus.
      • Instructions to view profiles:
        • You should see a box with an orange border that says you are in Amplify. If you don’t see this, email Lindsey.
        • On the housing portal (the last circle on the left hand side, called “Roommate Groups – RLC Only” after the profile review circle.
        • Click “Search for Roommates by Profiles” to the bottom right of that box
        • The Lifestyle questions that then pop up act as filters – I’d recommend selecting only a few you really care about, and then leaving the others as “Any”, as this will increase the number of folks you can see.
      • You do not need to find a roommate in order to live in Amplify.
        • You will still receive a link from Housing in your CSU email, that will include a time slot of when you can access the room selection portal
        • You will be able to select a single slot in any available double room. Or, you can select a single slot in a double room with someone else in it – you can see the profile of the student who is also in the room, so you can deicde if you want to room with them.
        • this is as close to getting “randomly” placed as CSU does.
      • If you do find a roommate, they need to be in Amplify in order for the system to allow them to be in Pinon Hall.
      • If you find a roommate you like who is in Amplify, please ensure you are in a roommate group with that person.
      • You can reach out to University Housing if you are having difficulties with any step of this process!
      • Housing, roommate and room selection FAQs here.

  • Room Selection
    • Room selection for Amplify (which is a Residential Learning Community, or RLC) will occur during the RLC room selection week, 6/20-6/28. Pinon Hall will be available for Amplify students to select from.
    • if you are in Amplify, you will receive an email from university housing (to your CSU email) with a lottery time slot, which marks the start of when you are able to access the room selection portal.
    • The room selection portal will be available anytime after your time slot (you don’t need to be online right at that time, but rooms do go quickly).
    • Please reach out to University Housing if any of the systems seem to be acting up
    • Please reach out to lindsey.young@colostate.edu if you don’t receive a link in your email, or if there are no more rooms in Pinon you can see.
    • Single Rooms: We have a very limited number of single rooms in Pinon Hall. If you plan on trying for a single and still want to have someone in a roommate group as a backup, please communicate your intentions with them.
    • Accommodations: If you are looking for accommodations in regards to Housing due to a disability or medical condition, please please reach out to the SDC to go through their accommodations process ASAP.
    • Room selection for the rest of campus starts 7/5. If you haven’t picked a room by 6/28, you will be sent a link for general room assignment, and you are not likley to get a spot in Pinon.
    • If you don’t participate in the room selection process during RLC week, we cannot guarantee a room in Pinon with the rest of Amplify. Please email Lindsey ASAP if this is you.
    • If you’re in Amplify and select a room outside of Pinon during the following week without communicating with us, you may forfeit your spot in Amplify. Please email Lindsey ASAP if this is you.
